The art of Narelle Munro - Olive Cotton Finalist at Sutherland Library

Sutherland Library is privileged to have a display of a collection of works by local artist Narelle Munro.  Narelle is a 2013 Olive Cotton Finalist.
Narelle's photographic artwork began with a gift of an SLR camera in 2001. Her works have been exhibited in the Art Gallery of NSW, regional galleries around Australia including Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Art Centre and in Japan.

One of Narelle's composite designs on display is particularly special. Titled "Salute to the 3rd Brigade" this contemporary work is designed as a mark of respect to the 3rd Brigade, 1st Australia Division AIF almost 100 years on. This brigade was formed from volunteers who were the first brigade ashore at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915.  They then went on to fight for four years.  The full explanation of this beautiful six panel work can be seen with the work.

Narelle is Lifetime Friend and volunteer at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Art Centre. Her works will be on display in the lounge area of Sutherland Library during July and August.
