Youth Week 2011 @ the library
Sutherland Shire Libraries
We had a fantastic Youth Week 2011 here at the Sutherland Shire Libraries, with many teens and young adults gracing our doors to participate in loads of activities, including Wii Gaming Nights with pizza and snacks, a movie night showing 'Edward Scissorhands' and a HUGE clothing swap just for teens!
We even had our own spray tattooist on hand to give kids temporary butterflies, roses, Justin Beiber and Darth Vader tattoos. These were a real hit and even some of the staff sported a few for the week.
Check out the great pics we've added to our Flickr account - have a browse and be on the lookout for more great activities for teens in the shire!

Youth Week
Manga Madness @ Sutherland Library
Martin Boyce
During Youth Week we held a Manga Character Design Workshop. During the 2 1/2 hour workshop teens learnt how to design their own Manga character. By the end of the afternoon 29 characters were created and one was chosen as the best. The lucky winner was awarded with special Manga design paper kindly donated by Althea and Fiona the workshop trainers.
Following hot on the heels of the Manga Workshop many kids joined us in the School Holidays for our Movie Madness activities. The staff dressed to the nines ready to walk the red carpet and many of the kids dressed as their favourite movie characters. They enjoyed playing the memory game, celebrity heads and making their own Hollywood Star.
