Literary resolutions...

This year, read more, more, more!
Well this is a post about literary resolutions! Reading more may mean reading a book (or two) this year to aiming to read a book a month, a week or even more!

Some literary resolutions to help you read more...

  • Read ten minutes a day, or a least an hour a week.  Read ten minutes a day to your children, or to yourself. With a book to read, you'll never be alone.
  • Listen to an audio book. No time to read? Listen to a book as you commute to work, walk, run, garden, cook or iron.
  •  Join a book group. This is a great way to meet like minded people, read outside your comfort zone and ensure you read at least ten books a year!
  •  Read the book before the movie... Why are so many movies are actually book adaptations? Well that would be because the books are good, really good, often even better than the movie....
  • Read diversely. Get out of your comfort zone and try a book you wouldn't normally read, whether it's romance, Sci Fi, adventure or chick lit. You may be pleasantly surprised...
  • Resolve to read the classics... look out for the 1001 A-Z book challenge being posted soon.
  • Visit the library regularly. The best way to fulfill these literary resolutions is of course, to visit the library! Find comfortable reading spaces, like minded people,  ask library staff about  personalised reading suggestions,  find magazines and newspapers and lots of books.
