Extra Databases Available from Home
Some time ago we told you that the State Library of NSW was providing at home access to a number of databases to all NSW residents on a trial basis. The good news is that the trial is now over and the State Library is continuing to provide access to the databases. These databases are additional to the online databases you have access to as a member of Sutherland Shire Libraries. To gain access to these databases you must first register for a Reader's Card, which can take up to 10 days to arrive. We recommend that you register now so that you have access later on if and when you need it.
These databases may be especially helpful for HSC and University Students when researching essays and assignments. In particular, Informit and Proquest 5000 include a wide ranging collection of journal titles covering most subjects. The Times Digital Archive could be very useful for modern history students with contemporary accounts of the various topics studied and Film Index could obviously benefit anyone studying Film in English.
